ORCA SPLASH, a beverage with a mission

PROJECT SUMMARY

​CONCEPT

Development of a refreshing carbonated beverage brand named “Orca Splash.” The beverage addresses the controversial topic of a proposed pipeline expansion in the Burrard inlet that would have serious impact on the environment and well-being of our iconic orcas forcing them closer to extinction.

DESIGN RATIONALE

LOGO + TYPOGRAPHY
Inspired by the beauty, power, and shear size of the orcas, I chose a strong sans-serif font for the logo. Flanked with a playful typeface for each of the flavours reflecting the whales’ playful nature.

TAGLINE

The tagline, “A tail slap in the right direction” refers to the consorted activities in place to save our whales and stop the pipeline expansion.

 

COLOUR PALETTE

To endear and draw attention, I chose a bright & cheerful colour palette, supported with original illustrations of the orca to emphasize that these beautiful mammals are no threat to us.

 

 GOAL

The goal of the beverages is to enamour and reacquaint people with our iconic orcas and to raise awareness that the pipeline expansion has major consequences on the survival of our whales.

 

I would like for people to become aware and support the actions underway by the Raincoast Conservation Foundation to help save our beautiful whales.
