DESIGN RATIONALE
TITLE
“Gezellig” is a word that encompasses the heart of Dutch culture. Depending on context, it’s a word often used to describe catching up with an old friend or just the general togetherness that gives people a warm feeling.
TAGLINE
The tagline “A Foodie Tour to Dutch Pastries” tells the reader they’ll be taken on a journey of discovery.
IMAGERY
In keeping with a modern vibe the layout is kept airy and in support of the bold colourful photos displaying the beauty and uniqueness of Amsterdam.
COLOUR PALETTE
The colour palette reflects the warm and rich colours of brick and pastries.
TYPOGRAPHY
Complimenting the meaning of “Gezellig” a script font was chosen for the cover and section headings to give both a modern, inviting, and informal vibe.
An easy-to-read serif font continues to tell the story on the inside.
FORMAT
Not only is this a practical cookbook for the kitchen. The landscape format makes this book a great keepsake and conversation piece for the coffee table as well.
